About the Choir

The Glen Cairn Community Choir was founded in February 2016 as a collaboration between the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre and C.C. Carrothers Public School. The choir is open to anyone who wishes to sing - no experience or music-reading ability is required to join, and all ages are welcome.  The choir was featured in the Spirit of Glen Cairn documentary, and has performed at several community events.

Our Conductor

Steve Richards teaches Vocal and Instrumental Music at C.C. Carrothers Public School, and was a recipient of the Thames Valley District School Board Award of Distinction in 2017. He completed his Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education degrees at Western University, where he was the recipient of the Wesanne McKellar Conducing Award.  Steve performs as a saxophonist with Encore: the Concert Band.
